Brant Ryan has a diverse practice in which he counsels clients on health care regulatory compliance and employment-related issues; conducts neutral workplace investigations in the areas of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and employee misconduct; and represents state agencies in the defense of administrative decisions and procurements.

Brant’s practice also includes:

Advocating for and assisting clients with all aspects of Mississippi’s Certificate of Need laws before the State Department of Health.
Advising and training clients and their employees in the areas of compliance with the ADA, ADEA, Federal fraud and abuse laws, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, the HITECH Act, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Defending healthcare providers before professional licensing boards.
Advising and performing HIPAA security risk assessments and assisting in responding to and reporting of HIPAA breaches.
Reviewing and negotiating employment contracts on behalf of healthcare professionals.
Defending healthcare providers in response to Medicare post-payment audits and appeals.
Providing counsel on the ongoing implementation of and changes to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

His significant contributions and honors include:

Completing the Association of Workplace Investigators Training Institute and receiving the designation of AWI-CH.
Induction into the University of Southern Mississippi Hall of Fame.
Serving as the Chair of the Mississippi Bar Association, Health Law Section.
Member of the Mississippi Bar Leadership Forum, Class of 2013.
Serving as the Chair for and Member of the Leadership Madison County program for the Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
